James M. Boyle, III, D.D.S., M.S.

James M. Boyle, III, DDS, MS, completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of North Carolina in 1992. He is a fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

A graduate of York Catholic High School, Dr. Boyle attended the University of Pittsburgh on an athletic scholarship and majored in biology and history. Following undergraduate studies, Dr. Boyle received his D.D.S. from Northwestern University. Dr. Boyle recently retired from the US Navy Reserves with the rank of Commander in the Dental Corps. During his combined active and reserve years CDR Boyle completed tours on two aircraft carriers, served as the oral and maxillofacial surgeon of a European Naval Hospital and was the staff surgeon at both Bethesda Naval Hospital and the US Naval Academy.

Dr. Boyle completed his Masters of Science while at the University of North Carolina. His research covered screw/implant fixation in the facial skeleton and resulted in multiple published scientific articles. Dr. Boyle has lectured in the US as well as Europe and Latin America. His surgical interests continue to be implants as well as reconstruction of the head and neck. Dr. Boyle is also treating a number of patients with obstructive sleep apnea.

A member of the surgical staff of both York Hospital and Memorial Hospital, Dr. Boyle is also an anesthesia inspector for the state of Pennsylvania as well as an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support.

Robert L. Waltz, D.D.S.

Dr. Robert L. Waltz, has been practicing Oral & Maxillofacial surgery in the York area since 1987. He has been married to his wife, Beth, since 1984 and has two children, Zachary and Leigh.

Dr. Robert L. Waltz graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979, cum laude with a B.S. Then graduated in 1983 from the School of Dental Medicine, where he was awarded membership in OKU for honors graduates. He also received the Brodie Award for clinical excellence. A four year surgical residency followed at the Medicinal Center of Delaware where Dr. Waltz was Cheif Resident in 1987.

Dr. Waltz is a member in good standing with the York Country, Pennsylvania and American Dental Associations, as well as the Central Pennsylvania, Mid-Atlantic and American Associates of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Clinical interests are in dental implants with immediate placement and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Waltz has been a member of the Board of Directors for Delta Dental, the American Heart Association, the Shadowfax Corporation, as well as president of the Dallastown Ice Hockey Club. He served a two year term as president of the Shadowfax Corporation. He also coaches the Dallastown Ice Hockey team and several travel hockey teams.

John J. Hankle, D.M.D.

Dr. John J. Hankle, a native of Hanover, Pennsylvania, received a B.S. degree in Biology from Muhlenberg College, and a D.M.D. degree with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Dr. Hankle served in the U.S. Air Force as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at George Air Force Base, California.

Dr. Hankle is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. In addition, he is active in many local and national professional societies.

While enjoying the contemporary scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Hankle's interests include dental implant placement, bone grafting, ambulatory anesthesia, reconstructive and orthognathic surgery, and treatment of sleep apnea. He is on the surgical staffs of York Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Apple Hill Surgical Center, and Surgical Center of York.

Dr. Hankle has been involved with multiple surgical and dental mission trips to Ecuador, where he provides surgical care to indigent Indian children in different regions of the country.
